The Right Dress For Your Figure

We've all been there.

Shopping online, scrolling quickly through pages upon pages of clothes until BAM! Finally one pops out at you: the perfect dress. You feel it in your chest - you need that dress. You quickly click your size and order online. The next few days you check outside your door, the whole time imagining yourself out on a date in that dress, in the office in that dress, strutting down the street in that dress. You see yourself as the best version you can be, this one dress can change your life.

Finally you come home one day and see that perfect little package on your door step and you feel your heart in your throat with excitement until... you get it on.

And it is not at all what you pictured.

You look down and realize that you are an hourglass, and that model was a wedge. Or you are a rectangle and that model was an apple. Whatever the case may be, unfortunately, dresses aren't universally made for all body types. Historically, body types have been broken down into five categories; pear, wedge, rectangle, apple and hour glass. There is no NORM.

In order to take some of the pressure off of finding the right dress for your body, we at Vivienne Atelier have created a guide.

One girl's go-back is another girl's dream dress.

Remember, fashion is all about silhouette and the right proportions, it's never about making yourself look thin, but about flattering your figure.
